Family Night on the Farm

6:30-9:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16. A family-friendly event at Soil Born Farms, scheduled to replace the canceled Day on the Farm, the May event which had to be scrapped due to thundershowers. Live music, farm tours, lawn games, kids activities and more. 2140 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova.


Sacramento Bromeliad & Carnivorous Plant Society

7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21. The monthly meeting will feature member Keith Smith speaking on "Bromeliads A to Z," specifically the six new families split from the former Pitcairnioideae family. Shepard Garden & Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd. Sacramento.

1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. The Yolo County group of UCCE master gardeners will hold a public sale of gently used, clean garden items, including tools. garden art, books, jewelry, bulbs and more.
