Love pink and purple? This is the flower show for you!

Today (June 2) is the 76th annual Sacramento Fuchsia Show and Sale at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, in McKinley Park. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., see scores of charming and delightful fuchsias, and take some unusual varieties home, too. This free show is presented by the Sacramento branch of the American Fuchsia Society.
Many fuchsia varieties can take Sacramento's heat. After two particularly hot summers, society members put together this list of the best heat-tolerant fuchsias for Sacramento:
Angel’s Earrings (shown in photo, courtesy NPS), Autumnale, Baby Blue Eyes, Barbara, Blue Satin Improved, Caledonia, Cardinal, Celia Smedley, Curtain Call, Dainty Angel’s Earrings, Display, Dynamic, First Love, Galaxy, Gartenmeister Bonstedt, Jack Shehan, Jim Fairclo, Lena, Lord Byron, Magellanica, Marinka, Orange Drops, Monterey Pacifica, Pink Rain, Quasar, Raymond McGowen, Red Spider, Sacramento Bells, Sacramento Rose, Santa Cruz, Strawberry Delight, Swingtime, Walz Jubelteen, and Winston Churchill.
