Homes for the Holidays tour offers lots of spirit(s)

Popular event includes raffle of 100 bottles of local wine plus tasting

Need a big dose of holiday spirit -- and maybe some wine tasting, too? Check out the ninth annual Homes for the Holidays tour, presented by the Assistance League Sierra Foothills.

Set for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, this tour visits several private homes in El Dorado Hills and neighboring communities, decked out in their holiday finest. Stroll through an enchanted forest of designer Christmas trees, which will be auctioned off at tour’s end. At various stops, enjoy sampling chocolates, cookies and Amador County wines. A holiday candy bar will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Besides offering lots of decorating ideas inside and out, the homes also showcase the tour’s signature raffle; top prize is 100 bottles of local wine. The tour is the major fundraiser for the league’s Operation School Bell, which helps clothe children in need in El Dorado County. In 2018, the program clothed 907 students.

Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets ($25 adults, $10 children age 12 and younger) are available online at https://www.assistanceleague.org/sierra-foothills/ or at the tour’s first stop, Pottery World, 1006 White Rock Road, El Dorado Hills.
