Center's clubs offer plants, crafts, supplies and advice

Pick up some great garden bargains as well as meet local garden and crafts experts at Shepard Garden and Arts Center during the center’s annual spring sale.

Set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, this sale is a gathering of many of the local clubs that call the Shepard Center home.

Think of it as a giant garden-oriented bazaar, with a wide assortment reflecting club interests. The Perennial Plant Club, the Sacramento chapter of the Begonia Society and several other clubs will offer plants, cut flowers, books, gardening supplies and more. Crafts-oriented clubs will sell handmade jewelry, pottery, antiques and unique gift possibilities.

Proceeds benefit the individual clubs as well as help the center stay open. In addition, the event is an opportunity for patrons to meet gardeners and craftspeople, ask questions, get advice and learn more about these hobbies. All participating clubs welcome new members.

Shepard Center is located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, in McKinley Park. Parking and admission are free.
