Orchids galore at Sacramento show

72nd annual event spotlights world-class exotic plants

Get ready for an eye-popping spectacular!

See orchids at their finest -- and most exotic -- at the 72nd annual Sacramento Orchid Show and Sale.

This weekend, the Scottish Rite Masonic Center will be overflowing with orchids like you've never seen before. Presented by the Sacramento Orchid Society, the show features world-class examples of phalaenopsis, cattleya, bulbophyllum, dendrobium, paphiopedilum, sarcochilus, vandas and more.

In addition, this event boasts an amazing selection of orchids and exotic plants at its public sale. Growers from throughout California offer beautiful and unusual orchids and tropical plants, mostly in bloom, as well as growing supplies and garden gifts.

Admission is $10 at the door. Youth, age 16 and younger, are admitted free with paying adult. Free parking is available at the center, 6151 H St., Sacramento.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14.
