Free guided tour of UC Davis Arboretum gardens at noon Wednesday

Get some lunchtime exercise and learn about fall-blooming plants in the UC Davis Arboretum.

Join Warren Roberts, arboretum superintendent emeritus, for a noon stroll on Wednesday, Oct. 9, as the beloved plantsman and punster leads another “Walk with Warren.”

This free one-hour tour will explore the arboretum’s gardens near the Arboretum Gazebo. Roberts, who probably knows more about these gardens and their history than anyone, will point out his favorites and share stories about some of the standout selections in the arboretum’s vast collection.

It’s a great way to get familiar with some unusual varieties that have adapted to our Mediterranean climate. Discover some new favorites, too.

Many of the plants you’ll see will be available in the arboretum’s upcoming fall plant sales – and just in time. The next sale is Saturday, Oct. 12.

Free one-hour parking is available Wednesday along Garrod Drive near the gazebo. Or park in Visitor Lot 55 and stay longer; an all-day pass is $9.
