Mums the word this weekend

It’s the first weekend in November, which means it’s time for an annual floral spectacular: the Sacramento Chrysanthemum Show.
Now in its 72nd year, the show will offer a “Potpourri of Mums,” with scores of beautiful blooms filling the Shepard Garden and Arts Center in McKinley Park.
Created by the Sacramento Floral Design Guild, arrangements will interpret that potpourri theme. Admission and parking are free.
Show hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. Shepard Center is located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento.
