Free workshops offer hands-on advice for pruning, planting and more


It’s not too late to prune your roses – or plant new ones.

Saturday, Jan. 25, Eisley Nursery in Auburn offers two free workshops on rose care including pruning, planting, feeding and more.

At 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., local rosarians will lead demonstrations on how to prune effectively for plant health and more blooms. They’ll also discuss whether or not spraying is necessary (and if so, what to use and how to do it), favorite fertilizers and other tips.

In addition, these rose experts will offer advice on choosing varieties to add to any garden. Eisley Nursery features one of the best rose selections in the area.
