One-day violet show, sale at Shepard Center
A long-time favorite on the Sacramento flower show calendar returns this week when the Delta Gesneriad and African Violet Society hosts its annual show and sale at Shepard Garden and Arts Center in McKinley Park.From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, the event features a huge sale of unusual African violets and their close cousin gesneriads. Admission and parking are free.
"Please join us (as) we celebrate our skills and love of these unique and gorgeous plants for all to see," say the organizers.
Exhibitors come from throughout Northern California to show their prized plants. Many of the sale plants were grown by club members.
Due to COVID precautions, face masks will be required. Masks will be provided to patrons without them.
Shepard Center is located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento.
