Dozens of garden, crafts club to participate

Fall is prime time for planting. That also makes it a wonderful time to get new plants as well as for planning ahead.

Do both – buying plants and planning – at this weekend’s Shepard Center Fall Sale.

Set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2 and 3, this huge event fills the center’s patio and main rooms. Dozens of garden and craft clubs that call the center home are expected to participate.

“This is the place to get wonderful plants, beautiful jewelry, unique crafts, as well as good food – meet our new caterer,” said the center’s board of directors in its sale invitation. “Most clubs at the Center will have tables with their items for sale and information about joining their clubs. Most importantly, come see old friends and make new ones!”

Among the items offered for sale will be many kinds of plants, gardening gadgets, books, artwork, jewelry, antiques, ceramics and more.

Admission and parking are free. Due to pandemic precautions, patrons are asked to wear face masks (even outdoors) during the sale and stay socially distanced if possible.

Shepard Center is located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, in McKinley Park.
