Hot dog! Green Acres hosts no-cost adoption day 

How about bringing home a new best friend for the holidays?  It’s time to get your wag on during “A Season of Caring: Adopt a Loving Friend!” 

On Saturday, Dec. 4, Green Acres Nursery & Supply will host a no-cost pet adoption day at its Elk Grove store. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., meet adoptable dogs and take one home that day. Presented in cooperation with the Front Street Animal Shelter, the event features a lot of perks besides happy pups.

The adoption package includes: Spay or neuter surgery; microchip (with registration); bordetella and DHPP vaccinations; rabies vaccination; heartworm test (if dog is older than 6 months); flea preventive; deworming preventive; one-year license (city residents only); free health exam certificate; plus dog collar and leash. 

 Green Acres generously will cover adoption fees for any pets adopted during the event. Proceeds will go to the Front Street Shelter.
